Your organization is struggling to take things to the next level. You have great intentions, but you’ve lost sight of your vision because you’re trying to “do it all” without a clear direction. There’s confusion between your mission, vision, and day-to-day operations. Worse yet, you may be worried about the sustainability of your organization altogether.
Let’s work together to develop a long-term strategic plan to get your organization on the right path forward. No more second-guessing, wasted time, or confusion. Imagine receiving:
- A partner that is equally invested in the success of your organization.
- A credentialed expert with an unbiased, outside perspective.
- Facilitation and planning from start to finish.
- A thorough research process that includes interviews and focus groups with all of your key stakeholder groups.
- Clarity around your mission and vision, which will guide your services, programming, and communications.
- A shiny new strategic plan document that you can use to garner more support, donors, positive news coverage, and more.
I enjoy helping organizations that make the world a better place through strategic planning, and with my Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), you can be confident that it will be done the right way!
How this works:
Depending on the size and scope of your organization, the strategic planning process can take between three to six months to complete. The overall cost will also depend on those things, though the investment range starts at $10,000.
Good to know:
Due to the in-depth nature of the strategic planning process, I only take on one nonprofit strategic planning project at a time. This means that I may have a wait list. Please contact me for availability. If we’re a good fit, a signed contract will hold your spot in my schedule. You’ll also be working solely with me, not paying for an entry-level professional in a big firm or a subcontractor.

"Laura Odenwald recently conducted a Five Year Strategic plan for us, and I am writing to enthusiastically endorse her and her work in the area of strategic planning.
Firstly, I am very impressed with Laura as a person and the values she has. When we approached Laura about hiring her for the project, she insisted on doing it on a pro bono basis because the Beckwith Theatre is a community, not-for-profit theatre. Laura is very intelligent and conceptual, but she also has a sense of what is pragmatically important in a business, which is essential in developing a plan that will be implementable and effective in the real world. She is flexible and adaptable and a pleasure to work with.
I worked for twenty years for Kraft Foods in Marketing and for fifteen years with a strategic marketing consultancy, and am very impressed with Laura’s experience and expertise. Community theatres are complex entities from a strategy planning viewpoint, with a number of cross-currents that do not always converge. There are a myriad of issues to consider and address, such as artistic choices, audience/demographic considerations, financial/building concerns, and environmental trends. Laura was extremely effective in focusing and guiding us through the complexity, helping us in the process to clarify and understand who we are; importantly, who we want to become; and framing for us how to get there.
There is an enormous difference in the vision we now have and the steps we can take to realize that vision thanks to Laura. She brings intelligence, experience and insight to her work and I would recommend her without reservation." - Jack Gannon, Board President, The Beckwith Theatre Company
