You don’t have the ability to hire a full-time staff person to manage your public relations and communications. Or perhaps, you have a staff person who’s juggling those responsibilities along with 10 other things. You know it’s important, but you just don’t know how to do it all yourself.
Let me fill in the gaps for you as a freelance communications specialist. Having spent nearly ten years working in multiple industry sectors (healthcare, higher education, nonprofits, and government), I’ve gathered quite the set of PR, marketing, and communications skills. I’m comfortable handling all of these things for your organization or business:
- Website Maintenance (I’m very experienced with WordPress and can find my way around just about any other content management system)
- Media Relations (news releases, event promotion, interview preparation and training, etc.)
- Social Media Marketing (content creation, advertising, training, analytics reports, etc.)
- Email Marketing (experienced with MailChimp, Constant Contact, and ConvertKit)
- Brand Management (developing brand strategy, messaging, and cohesiveness)
- Print or Digital Design (brochures, flyers, online promotional images, etc.)
In just a few hours each week, I can help you manage your PR and communications…for less than the cost of hiring someone full time!
How this works:
Based on your specific needs and budget, we’ll decide on a weekly or monthly average amount of time to be worked. From there, you’ll pay a monthly retainer and let me know what assistance you need week to week, providing plenty of advance notice for important deadlines. My hourly rate ranges from $50-$100 an hour, and I’m very efficient.
Good to know:
I only take on two communications specialist retainer clients at one time to ensure that each get the full attention and specialized approach they deserve. This means that I may have a wait list. Please contact me for availability. If we’re a good fit, a signed contract will hold your spot in my schedule. You’ll also be working solely with me, not paying for an entry-level professional in a big firm or a subcontractor.

"After relocating my business, I needed help growing my visibility in the New Orleans market. I had worked with Laura in the past, and knew she was the best person to handle my PR and marketing needs. She redesigned my website and implemented an SEO strategy to reach prospective clients in the area. My website is now found on the first page of Google search results (in one of the top 5 spots) for my primary search term: New Orleans Executive Coach. This has resulted in more qualified leads for my business. Laura has also helped me craft my brand messaging and article submissions for publication. She has a wide breadth of knowledge and expertise in communications. Laura is also my daughter, but as an Executive Coach, I know the traits of a successful professional; Laura is truly talented and I would highly recommend her regardless of our family ties." - Craig Juengling, P.C.C. , Principle, Juengling & Associates, LLC
