For those of you that aren’t familiar…Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 to encourage people to do good and support nonprofit organizations. Since then it has grown into a global movement. It always occurs the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and follows the major commercial days like Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday.

Messaging
In addition to bring able to share information about who you are and what your mission is. Potential donors want to know where their money is going (specific programs, operating costs, funding for a building, etc.), and how their donation will make an impact (elaborate on the previous point by explaining why the program is important, why you need a new building, etc.).
Mechanics
Website should be up to date and functioning properly – Beware of outdated information, broken links, and slow loading times.
Donation links or software is working properly – PayPal, etc.
Make sure every donation gets an immediate and automated follow up thank you email. Add them to your email list, etc. The goal is not only to raise money on this one day, but to develop relationships with new donors and expand your network.
Media
